Each year the editors of Monocle selects 50 things from their travels the past year that they felt were exceptional.  This year Monocle has awarded Arlanda Express in Stockholm the second place on the list for being the best taxi to train set up. Congratulations!

To and from the airports

Arlanda Express, a partner of the Stockholm Gay & Lesbian Network, is the fastest way into town from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. It only takes 20 minutes from the airport to the Central Station in Stockholm. It’s also by far the most environmentally friendly way.

Looking to take your partner on a romantic weekend to Stockholm? The fastest and most environmentally friendly way to travel from Arlanda airport to central Stockholm is by the Arlanda Express train. The journey to the city center takes 20 minutes. All Saturdays and Sundays, two adults travel together for only SEK 280.

But what if you are single? No problem! Take a chance and share the ticket with a new acquaintance. You have the opportunity to flirt at the ticket machines, you never know what it might lead to. At least, you surely will get a nice chat with someone who is also on its way to Stockholm, and maybe you can also get tips on sights and events in the city?

If you are too shy to flirt with strangers at the ticket machines there’s another solution for you. The staff at the Arlanda Express ticket offices will be happy to match you with another single traveler whenever they get the chance.

The Arlanda Express trains are comfortable and modern – and, who knows, when you arrive at the end of the journey, you might share more than just one ticket. You might even have met your true love or a friend for life. So if you participated in the contest “Win a date with Stockholm” without winning – don´t worry, you still have a chance to a date.
Take a chance on Stockholm!
