Join Tom and Josh from Passport Magazine as they explore Stockholm and discover some of the popular gay restaurants, cafes, shops, bars and more in the gay friendly capital of Sweden.
Places mentioned in the film:
Chokladkoppen – Cozy little café at idyllic Stortorget Square, not far from the Royal Palace in the medieval Old Town.
SoFo – These blocks are packed with interesting, cool and creative shops specializing in clothing, design, jewelry, knickknacks, vintage and second-hand, houseware, books and magazines, music and also scores of restaurants, bars, cafés and galleries. The atmosphere is laid-back, yet highly aware.
Grandpa – Charming, personal mix of clothes, shoes, accessories, jewelry, vintage items, design, and knickknacks. Lots of Swedish brands. Frequent DJs and live music.
Beyond Retro – Colorful, festive vintage clothes in a delightful mix of inexpensive and not so inexpensive.
Urban Deli – A popular new restaurant, bar, deli and store in the heart of style-conscious SoFo. They serve most of the day’s meals here. The menu is varied and the dishes are well prepared.
Berns Hotel – At this boutique hotel you can enjoy the best of two worlds: lavish interiors and the cordial, dedicated service. Berns is also a gorgeous entertainment mecca in well-preserved art nouveau style from the 1860s, boasting a vast dining room and numerous bars, cafés and alfresco areas in summer.
Torget – One of Stockholm’s most popular gay restaurants. Queen of the Old Town scene.
Zipper – Stockholm’s hot spot for the gay crowd! Nightclub with three dancefloors and four bars, entrance from Lästmakargatan 8.

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you’re in Stockholm today I recommend you to spend the evening at one of my favorite restaurants in Stockholm called Momma. The atmosphere at the lesbian owned restaurant and bar is relaxed and cozy. They offer hearty, moderately priced food that the staff describes as “rustic elegance”. Special Valentine’s Day menu tonight!

The walk starts at Bellmangatan 1, where Mikael Blomkvist lives, then passes the Millennium editorial office, Lisbeth Salander’s luxury apartment and many other locations mentioned in the books and films.

The Grand Hôtel is a classic landmark in the center of Stockholm. The location is perfect and the view over the harbour, Old Town and Royal Palace is much appreciated, both by international and Swedish guests.

The Grand Hôtel is a partner of the Stockholm Gay & Lesbian Network and during the years big names such as Marlene Dietrich, Ingrid Bergman, Albert Einstein, Grace Kelly, Esther Williams and Elizabeth Taylor have all stayed at the Grand Hôtel.

The Grand Hôtel was recently featured in Out Traveler.

Seeing Stockholm from the water during the cold months is unique and at least as magical as during a high summer day. The fresh, clean air, the calm, beautiful landscape, the shifting colors of nature, and the special silence all contribute to a unique experience for visitors.

Boats depart daily from the inner city. Take a day trip to the charming city of Vaxholm or stay a little longer on Finnhamn, Möja, or Sandhamn. Read more about boat tours in Stockholm>>
